1 month agoRacked Records - Logo design and release artwork
I was asked to help come up with an identity for record label Racked Records. For the logo the brief was to include some sort of security tag that you would usually find on some products/items of clothings in stores. I wanted to create something minimal but also to bear in mind that the logo would be seen on record centre labels, so I wanted it to look cool if it was spinning on a record.
As well as this I also Designed the artwork for the Sweet Chill EP by Samurai Breaks was such an enjoyable project. The brief was to make the sleeve resemble the packaging of a Thai sweet chilli sauce bottle. To achieve this, I styled the top and bottom of the sleeve to mimic the plastic bottle, with the "sauce" visible behind it. The label was intentionally designed with a slightly "stock image" feel to enhance the aesthetic, featuring playful nods to nutritional details you’d find on real packaging—reimagined with a musical twist, including the tracklist and a cheeky note of 160 burns per minute.

The 02DATRAP® Sharingan Fitted Caps were designed as a tribute to the legendary Lake Elsinore Storm Caps, which were synonymous with the UK grime scene during the early 2000s. This concept was inspired by the iconic Sharingan sound effect from the Naruto anime franchise, which is used by BACK2DATRAP producer Bally as his producer tag throughout Lancey’s mixtape.

I worked on the brand refresh for West End Records, an American music record label that focuses on Electro, Disco, Garage House, Boogie, and Hip-Hop genres.
I had to simplify and modernise the logo, and develop a fun and modern aesthetic inspired by Keith Haring's illustrations. His illustrations were a big part of Paradise Garage, the iconic club in New York where West End's disco music was prominently played./ Logo

This illustration honours Goodbye June, an amazing rock band from Nashville, Tennessee.
Cousins Landon Milbourn, Brandon Qualkenbush and Tyler Baker formed the band after the death of Tyler Baker's brother. This tragic event in June led to the name of the band today.
This print deals with this difficult memory with the illustration of an angel.
Having a death in the reflection symbolises that life can change in a flash, evoking the car accident.
The inspiration is also from the album's name 'See Where The Night Goes'.
We can see a journey in the sky portrayed with a sailor fishing stars, living an adventure helped by the angel.
There is a subtle mention of grief in the reflection of the man in the boat. It is of two brothers, one with the arm over the other, instead of what should be the sailor by himself. This is to show the love that remains. The crescent moon instead of the sail represents rebirths and new beginnings.
It was important to include nature in the print, because inspiration comes from being in nature, and is responsible for us being alive, also a link to Nashville’s beautiful nearby lakes.

The design of a series of four, digital-only pack shots and accompanying digital promotion for multi-award winning electronic music duo, Basement Jaxx. The collection of tracks comprises of unreleased, remixed and lost tracks between 1999 and 2009. To imitate a physical release, the artwork features analogue textural treatments that have been constructed and digitally coloured and composited.

I chose the most traveling creature on our planet - the Arctic Tern to be the main symbol of the album artwork. Its semi-scientific depiction draws attention to the more abstract and mental side of "traveling".

After having to postpone two years in a row; the world’s most iconic music festival was forced to go online for the first time in its 50 year history. Spanning 5 hours, featuring Coldplay, HAIM, IDLES & Kano, the event was one of the biggest and most ambitious online performances of the year.
We were tasked with creating an identity that celebrated the heritage of the event. Transporting the magic and mystery of the site into an online space.
We let the iconic pyramic shine at the heart of the campaign, working with a custom typeface that referenced on site engravings in the stone circle. Our work was paired with incredible visuals and performances filmed by Child Studios & Pulse Films.

Simultaneously to the logo design, I created the first concert poster intended for social media. The layout has to include the name, secondary information, and an image. From there, the brand started to form. The main elements are bright gradients that resemble jewel tones, funky text with a round sans serif for balance in the typography, shapes seen in modern designs, and concert-focused photography.

We were asked to develop the visual identity and social creative for London based record label LG105 and its associated playlist 'NOCTURNAL'. Named after the location of the labels inception (Ladbroke Grove) LG105’s visual identity had only scratched the surface of its brand story. In order to immerse ourselves in the process we carried out a fact finding exercise in the Ladbroke Grove area focusing on the iconic Trellick Tower and its surroundings to capture a range of visual references on film and digital.
Utilising our findings we created a range of new brand assets including animated iconography, grid systems, textures and photography as well as introducing a new brand typeface. These assets were then used across social creative to support releases, partnerships and playlist creative giving LG105 a gritty and unique brand identity.

Rainbow Gang is an energetic, queer, Brazilian trap song created entirely by the talented Poffo.
This emblematic track needed a fun, colorful cover to make it stand out! A set of 5 characters were designed to represent a diverse range of personalities representing the #RainbowGang.
This was a very fun project to work on, and designing the accompanying playing cards for each character for advertisement material was my favorite part!

This is the first of an ongoing collaboration between me and Nick Morris, creator of Me From Space.
Me From Space is a musical project founded in 2020. Its first collection of Singles and an EP were designed by me, influenced by the energy of these energetic punk ballads. According to the creator Nick Morris, the project is “Fueled by sci-fi fantasies and a fascination to the unknown” and that “Me From Space creates a hypnotic, infectious drone through morphing elements of electro-pop and DIY punk aesthetics”.
In order to transform that aesthetic into the cover art collection, I chose a classic, attention-grabbing, punk color combination: red, black, and white. With collaged sci-fi elements from old magazines and hand-drawn details brings the fantastical and the grunge worlds into one bold brand. To accompany the DIY vibe a simple hand-written logo and an outer-worldly friend for the icon.

Gatefold album artwork and band logo for Australian progressive rock band Aurora.
Whilst all the original image files were sourced from creative commons stock via unsplash, every image has been edited, manipulated or its' subject used to serve another purpose in the final images to create a new world representing the story being told within the music of this album.
I worked directly with the band to develop the concept for the landscape, character and vehicles as well as the album logo which, although meeting very specific requirements, was still able to add the double 'O' character to represent the multiple suns and moons of this strange world.

Logo and identity, including custom typeface and record sleeve design for a series of five double vinyl compilations.
The design of the wordmark led to the idea of a complete custom typeface, this was key in developing a distinctive look for the label and went on to form the basis of the record sleeve designs. The strong visual language established with 001 makes the labels releases easily recognisable – either as a small image on a website or across a record shop.

4 years agoAtlantic Records / Rudie Edwards Brand and Album Artwork
I was approached by Atlantic Records to create a logo and single artwork for a new artist signed to their label - Rudie Edwards.
The brief was a full on moodboard of all things 70s inspired. Soul train, disco balls, retro typography and sassy women with big hair and even bigger attitudes.
The outcome was a visual represenation of Rudie which can be used on it’s own, or paired up with the hand drawn word mark for full impact.
After creating the initial logo and word mark, I went on to design the single artwork for her first two releases. From initial sketch to Spotify artwork, this brand was exciting, energetic and most of all collaborative. We created countless pieces of art together until the band eventually broke up, (which was quite devastating for everyone). I'm still extremely proud of all of the beautiful work we created together and they're one of my favorite bands to this day.

So, based in this concept, I’ve worked on the branding and Vj content using elements with a deep meaning such as, sacred geometry, Mandalas, goddess, nature, space, etc., made in different techniques and on a main purple color to evoke ‘transmutation’, connecting the senses with powerful emotions in Live Performances.

I oversaw the creative direction and branding for the Seattle indie pop band After Gardens (now disbanded) for their 2020 double EP release rollout. The duo tackled the banality and chaotic nature of the modern social media landscape in their punchy anthemic tunes, lending the design to follow suit with its strong graphic logo, bright colours and its mix of sleek and nostalgic aesthetics. In addition to the design work, I oversaw styling for photoshoots, and also had the pleasure of directing, shooting, and editing a music video for their song "Too Much."

April Fools are an emerging indie pop punk band new to the London music scene. They are looking to make their mark with a branding package in the form of logo, submark and album cover art for their newest album Fool for You.
Aiming to appeal to younger "millennial" and older "Gen Z" audiences (20 - 30 year olds), they require something simple yet evey catching and alternative that best respresents their nostalgic yet future proof sound.

Upon initial consultation, it was decided that a logo, logo variation, submark and website banner would be the best way to get her brand started in line with the release of her new EP by the end of 2021.
Drawing upon Alexis' Georgian roots and the regality of her stage name, her new branding perfectly represents her personality and her unique sound.

4 years agoThe Nerve CD Cover
I was commissioned to help bring The Nerve's album cover to life based on their initial ideas. We wanted a fun, colorful visual that included the car wiith a woman tippnig her martini glass out the window while flying down a desert road. The rotoscope illustration style was also discussed in lieu of a more photo-realistic approach.
We shot the car with the model in a studio setting, afterwhich I used it for the illustrative composite. This included design of the logo and the sign with the marquee. We added a few tongue-in-cheek references for the fanbase and locals.
The final cover has been well received and was also the basis for a poster. The Nerve continue to work with me on various projects.

*This project was a school project and is conceptual.*
U&I is a compilation album featuring IU's best hits from her 12–year career. The album is named U&I meaning Uaena (IU's fan club) & IU. The CDs are curated to show the various concepts and styles IU has tried over the years and how she has grown as a musical artist. The album includes three CDs, a lyric book, and three random photocards. Each CD cover has a different isometric illustration which reflects IU's music video sets during that era and visualizes her unique sound. As her fans go through the album, they can reminisce past songs and celebrate IU's growth.

An ongoing collaborative project aimed at forming a techno music collective based in London, UK. We aim to shed a light on Londons underground techno music scene, focusing entirely on independant musicians, obscure sounds, and eccentric producers that represent some of the less popular electronic music styles.
The group was formed at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic as a means to support artists and DJ’s who’s careers have been negatively impacted by the lockdown restrictions. Through our podcast series, we aim to provide them with exposure during this challenging time and ultimately form a community that supports up and coming musicians within the scene.
My role within this project is to create a unique visual brand identity that would accurately represent our musical influences as well as be visually stimulating on social media so as to redirect our audience towards our podcast series.

Logo and single cover for RBI Music's official single "Jungle Funk". Logo design, album cover and Instagram posts for an artist and their latest single. The logo design is inspired by musical waves and the artist's embodiment of music. It is both modern and succinct.
The artwork for the single rollout was inspired by the contrast of the jungle (Serenity of nature versus the anxiety of survival) and the contrast has been visualized through contrasting images to potray this as well as the sound of the music.

Lowpass are a new lofi music duo based in London who were in need of some brand visuals to get their social media presence started before distributors can release their latest EP.
The duo wanted a minimal logo, submark and some album artwork. Whilst sticking with the minimal theme, they wanted to include visuals of the lowpass filter used for lofi sound in music production.
The final package includes a text-based logo, visual submark, and album artwork concepts. I also included some mock ups to include in both our portfolios.

Liam Dee is a DJ and house music producer. Following a signing to a US record label, Liam needed some branding and promotional material. Turning to Divine Aesthetic for creative direction, I worked with Liam to develop a brand identity and a concept for the promotional material. Aura LP is a compilation released in digital by the Swedish label Spirit Soul Records, and in vinyl by the Russian label Hook Records, which includes some of the best tracks of the producer Alex Hook. For this, I created an artwork that encloses the mood and concept of his music in a natural landscape with harmonic color sequences, using the Collage art. An artwork with a phenakistoscope of flying birds for a mesmerizing spinning, social media banners and a short animation are part of this fascinating release! [Genre: Nu disco, Deep House]

Problem: The “This Dying Hour” lads came back to me a few months after we had collaborated on their brand with a new challenge. They wanted to create a limited print run merch design that would be launched alongside their new E.P. They weren’t overly sure of what they were looking for, but knew it needed to have impact and reflect the E.P title track “I am the danger!”
Approach: The line “I am the danger!” is inspired by the popular tv show ‘Breaking Bad’ so, I looked at the main visual themes of the show and pulled out the key aspects to combine them into something suitable for a metal band.
Result: A gas mask wearing skull, with the “This Dying Hour” logo carved into its head (lovely!). The back print sports a full-sized typographic statement, designed to look like broken or cracked glass, (reflective of the naughty substance promoted in the original Breaking bad show)!

Problem: “This Dying Hour” is a UK metal band that reformed in 2020, The band approached when I was approached to create a new and distinctive brand that would tell their story and help them stand out online.
Approach: After an extensive research phase, I broke down the key elements of The Band’s name, establishing symbols for each key element of the band’s message; i.e. time, location, life and death. Each symbol was then carefully placed within each other to create the band’s logo.
Result: A unique brand that The Band have successfully applied to a full suite of branded collateral.

BRIEF: TrendSpider's goal was to communicate that trading is a game anyone can play – if only they study and practice. Too many new traders enter the game expecting to get rich quick, only to get washed out in weeks or months. They wanted to convey the realities of trading by using music and humour. So they teamed up with talented Gee Smiff to produce a great hip-hop song. And we joined the project to create a music video.
CHALLENGES: TrendSpider wanted this project to be relatable by young audiences with a fresh visual style. The lyrics gave us cues on how to build the scenes and what to show on the screen.
UNIQUE SOLUTION: We segmented the video into three major parts—friends talking to each other in the room, dreams about getting rich and facing the realities.
