Pola & Bryson Artwork

"Beneath The Surface" is a concept album created by the Drum and Bass duo Pola & Bryson. Their vision was to create an immersive experience that evokes the sensation of traversing various natural landscapes through each track.

The album's artwork was designed to complement the music, aiming to give listeners the impression of being on the loading screen of an open-world game, ready to embark on an adventure.

I chose an aesthetic that blends low-poly game assets with realistic foliage and assets, achieving a mix of realism and gamification.

I crafted six 'mini worlds,' each designed to feel part of a cohesive universe. These were used for individual singles, each accompanied by a corresponding animation to promote the music.

Following a character's journey through a dark forest, pursued by a Monstrous unknown entity.

Stylistic visual inspiration drawn from classic 80's Horror & Fantasy movies made this a great project to work on!

Overall, a very atmospheric music video, steeped in mystery and mood.

Looping animation for AJ Tracy's single release 'Joga Bonito', primarily used for Apple Motion.

The brief was to create something in the style of retro video game graphics (90's Playstation or PC).

Tigertailz - Bloodsuckers Music Video

Follow Welsh rock legends, Tigertailz on a savage adventure in space, rocking out and ripping through their enemies to satisfy their hunger – but, for good or evil? Who cares!

Tigertailz are a Welsh glam metal band hailing from Cardiff, Wales. They are most famous for their 1990 album, Bezerk which made the Top 40 in the UK Albums Chart and spawned the hit singles “Love Bomb Baby” and “Heaven”. The band reformed in 2005.

This gory animated music video is just what the band wanted to reflect their latest single ‘Bloodsuckers’. 

I was the animation director and lead animator for the project. Utilising After Effects puppetry and frame-by-frame animation to bring this sci-fi, gory, action-packed music video to life.

This Music Video was made for Cardiff-based musician JacksorJacksor. Originally briefed as a Lyric Video, I wanted to push it to make it more interesting than just Lyrics on screen.

The foundation of the visual consists of filmed footage of the artist singing and playing guitar before I threw him into this Chaotic VHS static-filled existence.

Animated Promo for The Rolling Stones: Japanese albums (2023)

I was commissioned by Universal Music to design and animate a promo video to celebrate the reissues of 10 limited-edition Rolling Stones SHM-CDs.

Never previously available outside of Japan, this inspired me to display the iconic artwork on digital billboards reminiscent of Tokyo's city streets. I also mixed in images from replica paper-sleeves, inserts and Japanese obi-strips.

Mdou Moctar | Lyric Video "Afrique Victime"

Using the decorative frame element on the front cover as a narrative device, the video alternates between prioritising the lyrics and imagery of the band throughout the song. While the artwork's primary typeface, colour theme and textures dominate the creative direction, a strong political slant in the lyrical content required the lyrics to be explicitly represented.

The video appeared in both English and French language versions to better cater to each market.

The National | Lyric Video "Weirdo Goodbyes ft. Bon Iver"

Created at the lead asset for their latest single, the mgmt. and band wanted the focus on the single artwork. Through a combination of animating the typography, circular graphic element and dynamic camera movements a simple and engaging narrative has been designed to work throughout the duration of the track.

Peter Murphy | Lyric Video "Indigo Eyes"

Originally released as a single in 1988, from the album Love Hysteria, the track Indigo Eyes never featured an official video. In celebration of the release of a recently released, limited edition box set, a lyric video has been created. The direction of the video is inspired by the title of the track and art prints from a 7in box set that originally featured the single.

Ctrl+V | Visualiser "Blue Apple"

Featuring a combination of 2D and 3D animation techniques, the artist's logo and logotype have been carefully developed into three-dimensions. Designed to loop, subtle variations, through colour and the introduction of the dramatically lit logo, create enough variation throughout the visualiser to avoid being noticeably repetitive. The track is produced by John Fryer and self-released.

Ibeyi | Lyric Video "Sangoma"

The lyric video leans heavily on the gatefold image that appears in the vinyl LP format; a collection of artefacts and illustrations that the duo hold dear. A simple narrative is built, navigating through the collection of ornaments and imagery, following the lyric as they appears on and off screen.

Animated Music Video for Northern Introvert

Northern Introvert reached out to collaborate for his new track My Town. We wanted to do something together ever since we known each other. The video is based on my personal project ZEAL AWAY. It stars me, performing the facial motion capture for the singer.

Artwork for Paradise in Ibiza

Created a package of artwork for Paradise Productions in Ibizia, Amsterdam, LA.
Full 3D scenes were used for concert visuals, merchandise, social media, posters, and even real life 3D sculptures. 
Visuals were used over the 16 week DJ event, with new art displayed for each week.

Created in support of the post-punk band's reissued 10th studio album, "The Frenzy Experiment". The original vinyl and CD album artwork has been developed and optimised for animation and the digital medium. Original album photography has been reconstructed from the original still and animated.

Through the artwork's vibrant and striking designs, key imagery and primary colours are juxtaposed, while the overall visual language has been developed further, reconstructed in some cases, and optimised for motion.
