  • Raquel Garcia Branding and Media

Raquel Garcia is an absolute vocal powerhouse. Not even 18 yet, she was discovered by music industry titan, Chuck Morris, former President of AEG Rocky Mountains, (now the Chairman Emiritus of the organization). Through his financial backing, network, and management, Raquel is now positioned as one of the world's next top bilinguial Latin pop artists. With representation by Bruno DelGranado, the President of the Latin Division at CAA, she's recently been backed with writing support by Ed Sheeran and production support by Peter Asher.

Boulder Media House was contracted for a full media and branding package. We produced a full interview piece with Raquel in both English and Spanish, with social media cutdowns and a shortened version. We also executed press photos, a digital EPK, two live demo music videos, and social media consulting. More work samples from this project can be provided by request -- Creative Commission upload limits make it difficult to show the full scope of deliverables.

  • Great Escape

Carlisle based seven piece rock group Hardwicke Circus are something of a time machine in musical terms. They have been likened to the Rolling Stones and there are indeed similarities given both the instrumental and stylistic range that groups like the Stones would achieve, but never have I heard a group with as much going on as this band.

With this project the aim was not to record songs or conduct proper interviews but just to capture the essence of the group. So I adopted a semi fly-on-the-wall approach as the group set up to perform as part of the Great Escape Festival at Brighton’s Grand Central. Getting the guys talking was pretty good fun. Having previously conducted over a hundred interviews on my former health and fitness channel this was a bit of a cake walk. I knew I wanted to quiz them for their take on modern music and the spirit of rock so I bounced them off each other for their answers whilst also examining their retro fashion choices.

Filming gigs is also something I have a fair amount of experience in with also around one hundred live music performance videos under the belt. This however was a bit of an awkward gig as the room was just about big enough to house the band, let alone a crowd. On top of that the organisers had about four cameras filming (footage that has never surfaced) and were a little touchy about anyone getting in the way. So I chose to capture as much of the set up and behind the scenes as I could get then to slip around the group between songs to focus on the different parts of the band.

In the edit I knew I wanted everything to have a timeless retro feel so I made the rare choice of putting the interview segments in a sepia monochrome whilst the performances I treated with a custom blend of tinted shadows, gaussian blur and prism effects to give the look of old seventies/eighties style television footage on a CRT television.

  • Amon Amarth - The Pursuit Of Vikings

Amon Amarth has released their new documentary and supporting live album(s), The Pursuit Of Vikings: 25 Years In The Eye Of The Storm – which includes a retrospective documentary that features a wealth of live and behind-the-scenes content and extensive band interviews. This film tells the Swedish quintet’s history, through both their own eyes and those of the fans that have supported them along the way. It is a thrilling collection that pays respect to the faithful, as well as making for a detailed and riveting introduction for those new to their inspiring story. Paired with this documentary is the live video/audio, which contains two different sets at 2017′s Summer Breeze Festival in Dinkelsbuhl, Germany, capturing the unit at their very best.

For the band, producer Alexander Milas (who contributed to Kerrang! and was an award-winning editor-in-chief of Metal Hammer, before starting his own creative solutions company, Twin V Ltd.) and director Phil Wallis, The Pursuit Of Vikings has been a true labor of love. “I think I first became conscious of Amon Amarth around the release of 2002′s ‘Versus the World‘,” Milas states. “It was a really transitional time for metal, and it seemed there wasn’t a credible band on the heavier end of the scale that hadn’t in some way responded to or been influenced by the pioneering sounds of the Swedish death metal scene, but I distinctly remember thinking that there was something unique about these guys: the artwork, the thematic underpinnings, even that curiously timeless logo.” While their sound certainly displays strong echoes of the nation that birthed them, Amon Amarth arguably wield a unique aura, a “lusciously crafted escapism” that Milas likens to the classic bands he grew up with: Dio, Iron Maiden, and others who exist on a spectrum of their own making.

  • Third Son - Work Really Fucking Hard (Album Documentary)

Debut albums are sacred concepts for any artist. The most personal statement possible about you and your work in musical form; something that takes time to perfect. There will only ever be one debut album, so it's got to be done right. Nothing left to chance and certainly not rushed. This makes Third Son's debut album all the more curious. The London producer approached his most significant work to date as a challenge: could he make and released it in 20 days during Coronavirus lockdown?

This documentary tells the story of that process, combining videos posted online during recording and a subsequent interview at his home studio where the album was recorded in May.

Directed, Produced and Edited the project end to end.
