Iggy Pop - The Bowie Years
I was commissioned to create a box set for the new release Iggy Pop: The Bowie Years, celebrating Iggy Pop's acclaimed output in the year 1977, mainly his two seminal albums 'Lust For Life' and 'The Idiot' that he created alongside David Bowie in Germany.
Blending a unique punk rock DIY visual ethic with a Bauhaus inspired tone, I developed a graphical language that gave this release its own character while sitting comfortably within the existing Iggy Pop world. This even included creating a bespoke one off set of type that highlighted elements of the Bauhaus graphical language alongside Iggy's rock'n'roll ethic. Using vintage posters, flyers, vinyl and photography sourced from music archivists and photographers who were present in 1977, the blend of fresh editorial content and exclusive imagery made this collection more than just a dusty old re-package. It's a true celebration of the work of two genuine icons for today's music collector.
The reception has been outstanding culminating in the project winning the People's Choice Award for Publishing in the Creative Pool Awards. Universal Music also entered the box set for the 2021 Grammy Awards.

Horsemeat - Bring It Down
"The song was inspired by a story of when I was out one night in Lincoln and was getting the eye from these couple of girls (back when I was desirable). Later on she came over when I was at the bar and pinched my arse and asked me to kiss her friend. I wasn’t drunk enough at that point to do that, so said something like “later maybe”, you know, being cool. Unbeknownst to me the one who did the pinching had a bruiser of a boyfriend who caught the tail end of this when I walked away, leaving a mate at the bar in my place, he mistook him for me and started smacking shit out of him."
I think we go down the route of stock footage of glitzy bars, people drinking, very Hale - then intercut us in a bar and flash frames of fighting and late night violence. And have words come up “Join us…”, “be one of us”, “Obey” Like Kylie’s Confide In Me video.
Utilising Stock footage due to £0 budget I was able to create a sense of the average night out in any British City or Town, intercut with animal "representations" of when a Saturday night inevitably turns sour... This is also reflected in the Obelisk, a nod to 2001 A Space Odyssey.4 weeks ago

I’ve really been appreciating the native plant life lately. I did some basic sculpting and incorporated a couple objects I scanned. Also included a couple of my photos that I was inspired by. A fun little AR component should be live in the next day or so.2 weeks ago
