Samuel Burgess-Johnson's graphic design work is exceptional. His campaigns for The 1975 are particularly noteworthy for their simplicity and effectiveness in conveying the essence of the campaign. It's also impressive to see how he adapts the original design across different platforms and uses it for various purposes.
Its difficult to choose a favorite, but this one immediately comes to my mind. The first time I saw it, I was taken aback by its impact and the level of detail in it. It's the kind of work that requires multiple viewings to fully appreciate and discover new elements each time.
Seekae - The Worry
An amazing and criminally underrated band that unfortunately no longer exists. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with them and was able to book some concerts for them in Germany. Here is what they say about the cover artwork in an Interview with Red Bull Magazine 2017: We wanted to create something really annoying. We took photos of all of us, then digitally merged our faces together and sent the result to a painter in China. They made paintings out of them, where everything is optimized and looks a bit better than in real life. However, we sent a photo of this sweaty and disgusting-looking guy, who is a crazy mix of all of us.
Parra for Cuva, the acclaimed electronic music producer, has fulfilled his long-standing dream of releasing a piano EP. Having worked on multiple tracks over the years, he carefully selected four of his best compositions for this exclusive release. To capture the essence of the intimate sound of Parra for Cuva playing on his Seiler Piano, Berlin-based director Gerrit Piechowski, and Director of Photography Lucas Fiederling utilized 16mm cameras to create a stunning visual representation of the music in the studio.
That was the debut album Nylon of @beaudiakowicz which we released in 2022. Beau is one of the most talented and kindest individuals I have had the pleasure of working with in the music industry. He wrote and produced a diverse collection of instrumentals and collaborated with a vocalist or producer on each track. It required a significant amount of organization and behind-the-scenes work, but it was worth it. We were able to bring together a wide range of talented musicians from around the world such as Bas, Galimatias, Emawk, Ben Esser, Ego Ella May, Rad Museum, Etta Bond, and more. For the graphic design, we were able to collaborate with @m0henjodaro and for the video, we worked with @samgoldwater. Overall, it was a great experience and I'm proud of the final product.
