IM LOVING
All these indie bands are smashing it at the moment on the UK live circuit and are well worth checking out if you get the chance:
FAVOURITE VIDEO
Fontaines D.C. - "Big"
I love the vibrancy of this and the first-person perspective of the young boy. Also it appears to be shot in one long tracking shot which is awesome.
BEST ARTWORK
"Grand Prix" by Teenage Fanclub. I love the clean lines and the simplicity of this striking image.
RECENT CAMPAIGN
I'm in the process of putting together my annual 3-day independent music festival in Brighton this May (The Brighton Rock'n'Roll Circus, featuring around 40 indie bands and artists, which is always a challenge!)
COLLABORATION
"The collaboration brings the best of both brands to the table—Supreme’s staple allover print rayon shirts, trucker jackets and bold screenprint tees detailed with the band’s distorted graphics and iconic discography imagery. The Loveless shirt, in particular, is a standout piece, while the close-up Kevin Shields photography splashed across the trucker jackets are a fitting homage to the wall-of-noise sonics synonymous with the shoegaze legends."
HOTTEST RECENT VIDEO
Charli XCX - Used To Know Me
So many different vibrant cultural touchpoints coupled with the ambitious styling made this a standout last year.
LOGO LOVE
GO FOLLOW
South London indie post-punk band Shame. I love the cheeky irreverence of their social media posts, and their Instagram account is a perfect example.
ICONIC PHOTO
Surely has to be the classic guitar-smashing pic of The Clash on stage at The Palladium in NYC by Pennie Smith (1979).
