Ryan has worked with grammy nominated producers in Los Angeles (Red Hot Chilli Peppers/Fleetwood Mac / Dr Dre / Rage Against the Machine), signed songs to Richard Branson’s record label (Catfish And The Bottlemen, Glass Animals and Loyle Carner), as well as Polydor and BMG. Ryan has written and produced songs hitting the top 20, furthermore, getting the 2nd most shazamed song in 2017. He was also the first unsigned writer and producer to receive ‘hottest record of the week’ by BBC radio 1’s DJ Annie Mac. In addition to writing and producing, multi-instrumentalist Ryan has also toured with various bands all over the world, performing in Norway, Sweden, Germany, Spain and America.
Ryan now focuses on media composition. Since 2020 he has won bespoke compositions with Guinness, Samsung, Nike, Adidas, Tik Tok, Subway, Maybelline, Pantene, Head and Shoulders, Tommy Hilfiger, The Irish Film Board, along with TV shows on Teen Wolf, Striking Out, The Royals, Unique BnB to name a few.
Our recent chat with Ryan discusses his favourite campaigns and talks about the overlaps between visual creativity and music.
I've been loving Mark Hadley recently. His track Trustfall for the Apple campaign is stunning.
I'm also a big fan of Marc Rebillet aka Loop Daddy, we flew out to Madrid to see him live last summer.
Lastly, Aneek Thapar is super underrated, he helped with the Netflix's hit documentary 'Killer Sally'.
There's a few I'm working on at the moment which I can't talk about. But I really enjoyed the Adidas Ultraboost campaign. 24 hours to write tightly to an animated picture, was a lot of fun. Last year I worked on a Subway commercial with Wake The Town, which aired in cinemas, along with festivals. Always enjoy working with the team there!
