Natalie McCain is a Senior Talent Manager, Head of Special Bookings at Insanity Group, and Artist Manager for Matrix & Futurebound.
Here's our recent chat with Natalie to discuss her favourite campaigns in 2020 and talk about the overlaps between visual creativity and music.
Usually, I would be working the summer touring and would be at all the festivals, but its heartbreaking seeing our industry be so hurt with the COVID crisis. So instead I'm working on lots of new music, remixes and production work with Matrix & Futurebound, whilst booking major label and music talent for digital and brand campaigns.
CHECK OUT
Alewya. Check out the video for her latest single Sweating. She self directs all her music videos and designs her own artwork and art concepts. It's great to see an artist’s true 100% vision.
FAVOURITE VIDEO
For everything happening in the world right now, Childish Gambino's This Is America. It hits hard and is so powerful. If I could pick another, it would be Clint Eastwood by Gorillaz – also genius!
BEST ARTWORK
It's a tie between Disclosure, and the amazing hand-drawn face animations or Chase & Status artwork for working in drum & bass and being iconically British.
CAMPAIGN OF 2020
I work in dance so I'm going to say Eric Prydz for everything he does visually. Across live, radio show, artwork his visual content is always EPIC!
VIDEO OF THE YEAR
The Weeknd Blinding Lights – also for his legendary live performance on the rooftop for VMAs.
LOGO LOVE
Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon is timeless, but for me, the Nirvana logo will forever be iconic.
GO FOLLOW
Matrix & Futurebound who apparently predicted we would be living in a lockdown with their single Don’t Look Back.
ICONIC PHOTOGRAPHY
It has to be The Beatles crossing Abbey Road...
