Chess records 70th Anniversary album set

A hypothetical 70th Aniiversary, 45 rpm album set. Featuring Physical records and individual picture cover sleeves for each artist, but in an album. Not disimilar to the old 10 inch/78 rpm albums pre the 40's, before the invention of the 33 1/3 rpm l.p. I designed the 70th anniversay logo/label on the records, fitting of the period, the illustrations on the picture covers and all the bibliography was researched and added from reference material and photos added again with reference. Due to the Covid restrictions at the time I was unable to submit the finished physical piece, yet gained my first class honours due to the works submitted digitally as required.

This was a fictitious project carried out for prospecting, in search of a future collaboration with the company.

The Song Sommelier & Radiohead

Our playlist and post by legendary journalist Pete Paphides (long-time Times Music Critic and author of Broken Greek) re-imagined Radiohead's catalogue along the theme of growing up with the band. Pete's wonderful memoir was embellished with Mick Clarke's characterful band portraits. The post was promoted by Beggars to co-incide with the launch of the band's Radiohead Public Library. We are open to working with labels on major catalogue artists for similar commissions.

Cold Summer

I created the cover art, Audio Visializer, and copywrite for this single release.

Cold Summer is a song of duality.

At it's heart, Cold Summer is exactly as it's name alludes. It is the expectation of warmth subverted, only to be met with the cold. The difference between bitches and hoes, and the story leading up to the revelation of this new understanding, these are the two stories told across these 2 minutes. The title serves to underscore the mood of the song, what going through something like this can feel like. What it's like to be stuck in a cold summer.

While it's commonly accepted that "Bitches ain't shit but hoes and tricks" I posit an opposing stance, highlighting the separate characteristics of each. I often seek to offer enlightenment and to spread knowledge, however on 'Cold Summer' I believe the simplistic approach was the most prudent move I could've made. Instead of my usual run on sentence style of Rap I opted to use more emotionally charged language, that coupled with the mood, melodic cadence, eerily haunting vocals, and overall vibe of the track serves to sufficiently paint the mental picture I desired to convey.
