Founded by Richard Blowes in 2019, Blowtorch Records is an independent record label based in Galway on the West coast of Ireland.

Their original aim was to offer digital promotion services to bands globally. The first Blowtorch Records vinyl compilation LP had tracks from 12 different bands of whom only 5 were Irish.

When Richard began managing Galway punk band Turnstiles in late 2019, the label's roster became more Irish and also the focus was more on physical releases rather than digital. Over the next five years Blowtorch Records painstakingly built a reputation as a boutique label for emerging Irish bands and producing fairly priced physical releases. Their stated aim is to "encourage and facilitate our releases to have beauty, interest and meaning."

With a focus on punk, lo fi garage rock, shoegaze and electronica they have nurtured the start of some of Ireland's most thrilling left field bands such as Search Results, Adore, Virgins and Nerves.

Their latest vinyl release is the third Blowtorch compilation comprising an all Irish lineup of 11 tracks.
