Q&A with Xidontlie: What Makes Brighten the Corners Festival Special?

I set out to document Xidontlie's journey at the festival: Brighten The Corners. From his home studio to the vibrant stage, our goal was to create an engaging Instagram reel that highlights the personal significance of this performance in his hometown.

Shooting in a vertical ratio, we faced the challenge of blending intimate studio moments with dynamic festival footage. We wanted to showcase not only the music but also the heartfelt story behind this performance.

Xidontlie shared with us why 'Brighten The Corners' festival holds a special place in his heart. Performing for the first time in his hometown centre, right outside the iconic local Ipswich town hall, was a dream come true. To make the moment even more memorable, his younger brother Mason joined him as his DJ, making it a shared experience they will never forget.

Tasked with creating engaging social media content for local musician Xidontlie, set to perform at various music festivals in 2024, my goal was to showcase the items in his gig bag. I aimed to build rapport with his fanbase while providing shareable content for festival promotion. Taking a polished approach, I sourced props, produced/scripted the project and utilized festival footage to achieve the desired result. The impact? The video resonated with fans and garnered attention from festival organizers, expanding Xidontlie's audience and solidifying his presence in the festival circuit.

XIDONTLIE: Unforgettable Moments from Recording 'Rosehill' | BBC Music Introducing

As a videographer, I recently had the pleasure of working on a unique project for BBC Music Introducing, featuring the talented musician XIDONTLIE. Filmed in the stunning British countryside, this project was designed in a vlog-style format, providing an authentic and personable glimpse into XIDONTLIE's journey.

In this video, XIDONTLIE discusses his recent accomplishments, including the release of his debut album 'Rosehill,' his nomination for the MOBO UnSung Songwriter Competition, and the recognition he has received from BBC Introducing’s DJ Target. Created for BBC Music Introducing, this project highlights their vital role in promoting upcoming musicians. The aim was to create engaging and relatable content for XIDONTLIE’s social channels, helping to expand his fan base and attract the attention of record labels and publishing companies.
