Women, Feminism & design
editorial // Book concept and layout for “Women, Feminism & Design” — A collective of stories from the history of women in graphic design. A quick guide book with names that are so often left out of design history classes and books.
The experimental layouts allowed each designers unique style and work to stand out on their own without overwhelming the reader but at the same time creating a visual interest. The play with bright colours bring in that modern element influenced by the newer generations of designers.
The book brings to light the work of 28 graphic designers, their main accomplishments and their influence in the industry. With a take on the politics of feminism in the design industry, the book is a light inspirational read that was born from the frustration of the lack of representation of female designers both in design school classes and famous history books.
