Eons.

a unit of geologic time equal to one billion years.

These images were shot on a recent hike in a nature reserve on a very isolated stretch of coastline. Because this piece of earth has stayed untouched for years (eons), it has a very ancient, almost jurassic quality to it. This series is focused on rock formations. For the entire hike you are dwarfed by a massive yellow sand stone cliff that has been carved and shaped by the elements for eons, creating mesmerising textures. Instead of showing the yellow colour of the stone, I decided to process the images as black & white. The idea was to really brining out the textures and the shapes of these cliffs by cropping each shot to create an abstract interpretation of this natural phenomenon.
