On my first dive into the VR creation I was amazed by the Animated Brushes function (in Quill & AnimVR).
The brush captures the motion of the artists hand. It captures this motion through time and the creative is able to build upon their past motion in real-time. The ‘line’ is sculpted upon from nothing in a three dimensional virtual space. Since that first experience I knew that we have gained a new horizon in animation.
The creation in this way can be used to give another dimension of life to objects and environments. It can give more soul and emotion to characters and figures. Use in pre-vis for effects and elemental magic is the most apparent. It can also be used in classical venues of art like portraiture, capturing a sculptural and a temporal variance of a person. The result can also be treated into 2D, 3D or virtual output which scales the content created. As it’s created in digital environment the files are easily interchangeable and utilised in a variety of pipelines and creative flow.
This is what I utilised in creating this eleigic piece for SAS2019.
