How To Save a Life - Video Artwork

Image

Kintsugi is a Japanese art form where a fractured object is repaired using molten gold. It demonstrates that where damage and repair occur can not only be the strongest point, but where it is also most beautiful.

This is true not just of objects, but of people. I wanted to create something of an instruction with this artwork. Following the lyrics, if you'd known to just reach out to someone in need, you'd know how to save a life. The upper hand is marked with a Kintsugi pattern, signifying past damage and repair is reaching out to a yet unrepaired hand. Offering guidance when needed.

Personally I think this is one of my most conceptually strong artworks. I am incredibly happy with the visual story telling demonstrated here and it's interaction with the themes of the song itself.
