Lewis & Leigh - A Piece of Gold Music Video

Our second music video with Alva Leigh, this time for her collaboration with Al Lewis and their song 'A Piece of Gold'.

They didn't have a scope of what they wanted from the video so we were given free rein with it so we came up with a series of visuals that we wanted to match up with the themes of the song, which were mainly about escpaing the norm, breaking with tradition and getting away from the pressures of society.

Which is how we came up with the idea of a woman running, shot on a country road late at night. The mystery of where she's running, whether it's from or to something, is never conveyed, her task is never complete. Using the dye in water was a metaphor for escapism, and going against the grain, the everyday and the mundane.

Using up to 4 different layers in the edit created something that was visually striking and was nominated for the Music Video Awards at the Leeds International Film Festival.
