Music Video "Human"

This was my 3rd Music Video and my first with The Killers.

The concept was to capture the band in one of the most iconic places on earth. Each item was set and never moved as the rule on set was "capture it where you put it". This was further exacerbated when we found out that we could not use ANY wheels on the goblin valley floor. All of the items, the crane the speakers the equipment, had to be carried by hand deep into the valley.

I wanted the video to feel "wet with heat" as Dean Cundey and I carved out our visuals one by one from an already generous landscape.

I also made a concerted effort to flatten an already multi-dimensional space, relying on color and detail to tell the story.

This project gave me a new approach to film-making altogher, where I would approach the environment from my already odd viewpoint and play with it until it felt palpable enough to show the world.
