Magazine Cover 3D Render & Concept

The British Contract Furnishing Association (BCFA) and commercial interiors magazine Design Insider invite a designer to create a cover for their directory each year. After being selected and being briefed with this year's theme 'Future Space', the design process began with research into the future of the furniture industry. This concluded with 4 key themes which were then represented in the design of the piece; flexibility through the fluid movement of the fabric, sustainability through the material selection, wellbeing through the comfort of fabric and connection through the placement and relationship between the materials. 

The 3D rendered route was chosen as it fit with the abstract, futuristic theme. Floating shapes in unexpected forms such as spherical timber added an element of fun.

Since its launch in February, the cover has been well received by the clients and wider audience. Personally, it has been a great project to showcase my creative skills across the full design process from conceptual design through to 3D rendering and setting up artwork for print.
