Tilly Mint is a UK based abstract artist, specializing in painting and experimental, macro videography. Her work marries together the worlds of art, spirit, and science.
Through her macro videography work, she explores the magic in the mundane. Using an array of paints, pigment, and other fluid, Tilly creates otherworldly scenes that are reminiscent of outer space or cells in the body. It’s a journey from the microcosm to the macrocosm that serves as a reminder that there is so much more than what is visible to the eye. The fluid reactions take place in a space smaller than the palm of your hand and are captured using a macro lens. This is a style Tilly has developed for over 7 years and was inspired by her experiences with meditation. During this time she has studied the nature of paint and other reactive fluids, leading her to be able to create videos that respond to the individual style and sound of her clients. Her work is analog, but colour grading is sometimes required for consistency.
To date, she has made music video artists all around the world, including The Comet, is Coming, Tommaso Capellato, San Soucis, and was involved in the making of a video for Oscar Jerome.
Tilly is also able to capture photographs of her reactions which makes ethereal, abstract images.
Other work includes oil painting which is a medium she has stayed loyal to from a young age. Her oil paintings depict dream worlds that often have reference to nature or ancient symbology.
Other artists Tilly has worked with include; Nicholas Daley, Flako, Yazmin Lacey, and London based collective; Touching Bass.
