My name is Dominic, I have ran Mutoscope Media since sometime in 2012 after I left the band I was in at the time, The Eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster.
My friends Black Moth, were signed to a small label and needed a video, so I borrowed a 5D, managed to attach my 35mm lenses and wrote, shot and edited a video for them with no knowledge whatsoever. 145k views later and still going strong, I've learned from my many mistakes and hopefully will keep learning till the end.
The majority of my videos are shot on the smallest if not completely non existent budgets. I am not a fan of effects, preferring to have a solid idea that can be brought forth with the camera and little else.
My proudest piece is for a band I used to perform in, Bad for Lazarus, which was a single shot video through the streets of Brighton which hit number 2 on the NME's most watched, knocking Led Zepplin's reunion tour down to number 3.
For many of my projects I write, storyboard, shoot, direct and edit the whole process. Each of these skills can be separated and used on their own, though for convenience I usually see the whole process through from start to finish.
