London
United Kingdom
My name is Joe Furlong, born in 1987, I have been operating in London as an illustrator, muralist and graphic artist under the moniker JOEFUR since 2007.
I work professionally as a freelance artist (self employed sole trader) specializing in music industry artwork (releases/merchandise/online), custom freelance drawing commissions, clothing graphic design and printmaking. Furthermore, I create original pieces, which I exhibit regularly, stage and public murals/street art and live art (art pieces created spontaneously in front of an audience).
I currently run my own sign-writing and decor company for venues and restaurants and am a trained youth worker, as well as a co-director and co-founder of the Minesweeper Collective screen printing studio which has been running in South East London since 2012. I have worked with many music artists throughout the London and wider underground UK music scenes and exhibited in both group and solo shows in many cities in the UK as well as Mexico, France, Spain, Italy, China and the USA.
My personal work is my own social commentary, utilising a 'surreal comic' graphic style that I am ever perfecting, however I can also draw realistically from memory or life and copy photographs, draw realistic or cartoon portraits or other styles upon request. In addition I am proficient with fine liner, dip-pen, pencil, paint, Posca paint pen and digital drawing/editing software. I am astute at developing concepts from rough themes and objectives, as well as working to strict parameters. I have the necessary drawing and process skills to reliably complete the work on time and on point. I have strong communication skills and calm demeanor and am looking forward to working with you to make your project a success.
