Angel Zapatero is a Film Editor based and Assistant Editor based in London. Born in Spain, Angel began being fascinated at a young age by the power of film that eventually would led him to pursue a career in the Film and Television industry.
Having started out as an Editor in 2007 in the commercial industry in Madrid (Spain), Angel then jumped into TV as an Assistant Editor for one of the most successful TV Dramas at that time. His enthusiasm would eventually lead him into editing for some Tv Drams and Factual projects for the Spanish Television.
In 2014 Angel moved to London where he worked as an Assistant Editor for the ITV Drama NEXT OF KIN directed by BAFTA Award winner Justin Chadwick starring Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife), the BFI 2016 Official Selection indie feature WHITE COLOUR BLACK, the feature documentary RED TREES directed by Marina Willer photographed by the Academy Award nominee Cesar Charlone (City of God), and the Audience Award Winner feature film at Cinepocalypse Chicago AWAIT FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS, produced by Jack Tarling (God's Own Country). He also covered for two weeks on Danny Boyles’ TV Drama TRUST for Fox Television as well as the BBC Films’ TV Drama A CHRISTMAS CAROL.
He was then selected to edit the short film AUGUST SUN written and directed by Franco Volpi, which was finalist for an Oscar Student Award and shortlisted for BAFTA Student Award both in 2018, and selected in 20 international film festivals including the Palm Spring International ShortFest and the BAFTA qualifying Aesthetica Film Festival. Additionally, the film was awarded with the Best Actor, Best Screenplay and Best Narrative short at The Artists Forum’s 2018 Festival of the Moving Image in New York City.
