EventConnect: Music Industry Online Community Platform

EventConnect is an online community platform for the music industry where Venues, Promoters and Artists can connect with each other for mutual benefit. The following functionality was implemented to achieve EventConnect’s vision and target audience’s needs:
- A membership platform
- Subscription functionality
- Job board/Classified ads functionality
- A polling system that automatically awards gigs to Artists who win the poll (custom-developed software as functionality didn’t exist)
- A ticket marketplace for Venues, Promoters and Artists to list and sell tickets for their own events (the sale of the tickets would be paid directly to the Venue, Promoter or Artists, with a commission percentage of each ticket sold being paid to EventConnect)
- Front end event listing and ticket management functionality (so users don’t require access to the platform backend)
- Affiliate payments functionality (for unique tracking links and payouts)
- E-commerce platform for transactions
- Sales reporting functionality
- Notification/communication functionality
- Analytics tools to capture and report user data
Such a great project with some really innovative ideas and solutions. But unfortunately, given the industry EventConnect serves, they had to close the site earlier this year.
