A series in which I explore the difference between Naked and Nude. Naked vs Nude aims to normalise the female form, rejecting ‘nude photography’ and the complex power dynamics that take place - nude meaning that the subject becomes a projection of the photographer as they are instructed how to pose, listen, talk and think during the photo taking session. When one is ‘naked’ they are free from outside projections. As the subject stands before me we discuss topics that come naturally to them. I allow them to lead the discussion, interjecting only to continue the discussion.
