Sick Scenes is the sixth studio album by UK indie band Los Campesinos! (Wichita Recordings).
The album was recorded against the background of the Brexit result and Trump presidential campaign and we wanted the artwork to convey the same sense of quiet, melodramatic despair at the state of the world that we felt. The sleeve art depicts a young woman lying down in the freezer aisle of a supermarket, half impromptu sit-in, half collapse. The title, Sick Scenes, sounded like the kind of headline that a tabloid in the grip of moral panic would belch out.
Thematically, the single sleeves, album liners, posters and social media assets all depict young people engaged in minor acts of defiance. Just being weird.
