Gold Panda - Chiba Nights

Music Video created for Gold Panda, based on our adventures exploring the Tokyo district of Chiba which the track is named after, I spent a week filming with Gold Panda on location, exploring his favourite restaurants, shops, bars, record shops, retro arcades and secondhand technology stores meeting all his good friends in Japan and collaging into an auto biographical music video.

The Video is divided into 16 squares to reflect the layout of the sample pads on an Akai MPC sampler Gold Panda uses to make all music, this then evolved into the live visual design where i'd run 16 layers of HD video overlayed into the squares, receiving MIDI notes in real time the video would randomly change in each sqaure, sometimes forming a whole image, but more often than not, being a complex tile pattern with a different theme and kalediscoping into pyschedelic vistas as tracks cresendo.
