Mixed medium on canvas

Leroy Tayler is a mixed medium painter, exploring the themes surrounding the duality of life and death. As a conceptual artist, his paintings are symbolic of mysticism, mythology, the occult and the inherent chaos of modern society. His combined use of acrylics, spray paint, oils, enamel and varnish create visual representations of the conflicting polarities in present times and how these complex narratives of culture, sex, politics and gendered issues impact life – breeding further struggle and despair. With over twenty years’ experience as a DJ, music producer and graphic designer, this South African born artist draws inspiration from graphic design artists such as Peter Saville and famed artists like Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Salvador Dali and Andy Warhol
