Channel 4 Random Acts Musical Short Film "(UN)FIT TO WORK" - 5mins

Broadcast on OFCOM regulated Television Channel4 on November 23rd 2022 across their midnight slot. "(Un)fit To Work" was successfully commissioned as part of C4's 40th Anniversary Celebrations to commemorate their launch in 1982.

This wonderful surreal Musical piece; Written, Directed & Produced by Yasmin Godo (as well as song written) is now an OFFICIAL SELECTION for BAFTA qualifying film festival BFI FLARE 2023. With 2 sold out screenings due in March.

Set amidst the 80’s during the jobs market crisis of the Thatcher era and HIV/AIDS endemic; a disabled, unemployed mechanic, Nicholas is unfairly denied the chance of applying for the job he’s best suited for, due to his disability. Frustrated, we’re taken on a musical journey of singing & choreography through Disco and Ballroom, through his imagination. Giving a voice to his silenced, jobseeking peers, calling for access and change. Revealing each ‘nameless’ characters story and their in/visible disability creating a symbol of hope in this imagined world, before Nicholas is brought back to reality after being urged to get a job.
