Music video for Abiodun Oyewole, SYNACURE, The Last Poets by vagabond

Music video for Synacure's 'WHO ARE WE NOW' featuring Abiodun Oyewole's of The Last Poets performing his poem 'Who Are We Now' and Baba Donn Babatunde, also of The Last Poets, on congas. The video also features legendary B-girl Rokafella and B-boy Kwikstep as well as newcomer Alanna Fernandez.

We wanted to emphasize the ideas Abiodun was expressing in his poem and confront people with his question of 'who are we now?'... We put people in masks and have them look to camera when the question of 'who are we now' comes up in the song. We also put dancer Alanna Fernandez in the mask and added shots of here running or hiding to highlight our lack of desire to confront the issues Abiodun is raisng in the song. At the end she takes off the mask but we cut away just before we reveal her to leave an air of mystery.
