Shot for just over three hours on the east coast of England during sunrise, we ran the 16mm camera at 1 frame per second with a 0.1 mm practical zoom every 6 seconds. With a reference video and two full rehearsals in the books, RHODES performed his song at 2% speed guided by lip movements to stay in sync with the song. An extremely technical shoot, all of the math and homework done allowed us to capitalize on the exact position and timing of the rising sun and ensure that nature could be just as much a performer as RHODES in the final piece.
