Creative direction for Universal Records

In 2018 Rebecca Dale became the first female composer to sign exclusively to Decca Classics. Simultaneously, she signed to Decca Publishing as the first female to join its growing roster. We worked with Universal Records to create Rebecca Dale’s album artwork. We took the opportunity to bring the evolution of classical music and the kinship between music and listener into question. Creating a contemporary aesthetic, impactful and considered; championing the nuances of the musical style and using minimal detailing, only where necessary. Allowing us to develop an art direction for use beyond the album itself, including digital design and collateral. Drawing on the emotion of the album which was a beautifully moving and uplifting tribute to her late mother, the visual direction quietly spoke of strength and the communication through the ethereal compositions.
