Memphis Type

This study required extensive research on 90’s Memphis rap. In order to emulate the “bootleg” album covers of the scene, I dove deep into the music. I found inspiration in the lesser known artists, as these artists had raw and unfiltered art on their covers. After this research, I had a clear direction on where to take this project. My goal was to incorporate elements of album designs with modernized design motifs to create posters that honored the likenesses of the musicians while updating aesthetic details.
