Permanent Repetitive Language North Western Dialects
Permanent Repetitive Language is a new UK Brighton based label launched by Kalli (Thimitris Kalligas), a northern music dietician and producer. The first project released was North Western Dialects, a various artists compilation featuring artists hailing from or connected to the North West of England. The image making for the sleeve focused on experimenting with the object that Kalli cut his DJing teeth with, namely the CD. Experimentation took place using a photocopier to record the movement of the disc across the copier to distort the image. The experiment was over printed on the disc’s interference colours, supplied by Kalli, as a reference to a ‘rave’ aesthetic.
