Digitally Controlled Oscillators

"Digitally Controlled Oscillators" is the first composition promoting this year's edition of the "Less Solid Dialect" 2021 album. The live performances captured with the camera instead of the oscilloscope used previously will give the audience more insight view on how Patryk Jaworski (BSc in Creative Music Technology) approaches his improvisation sessions. Various elements were used in the composition - custom loops and digital instruments created in Ableton Live 10 + Ableton Push as a midi-controller - The composition was improvised, with a general concept being prepared in advance. As in the case of earlier albums, the artist's technique is to abandon generally accepted norms in terms of rhythm and melodic structure of popular music and focus on modulating individual sounds. On previous albums, only one instrument was used for each composition (usually with Operator, Wavetable, Analogue-digital synthesizers + effects chain), but this time Patryk decided to create compositions using the same technique, but with more instruments. From atmospheric rain to roaring bass, the composition does not lack various types of sounds, an atmosphere conducive to contemplation over the nature of sound.
