OHCHR "Things Don't Have Rights"

Many people have a vague idea that they have human rights but are ignorant of the role of the Human Rights Treaties and Treaty Bodies that oblige governments to respect those rights. The OHCHR wanted to have a film which would appeal to 16-25 year-olds and explain the concept of the treaty bodies in an entertaining way. Working with Wired Video and animator Nicolai Troshinsky I developed a mixed-media style combining hand drawn animation with stop-motion found objects.

Animation by Tim Drage

Produced and Directed by Raj Yagnik, Wired Video

Includes drawings and designs from Nicolai Troshinsky and Lisa McKendrick
Music by Roma Yagnik
Sound design by Ruth Rainey

You can read more about the making of this film, and see the other shorts in the series here: http://www.wiredvideo.net/things-dont-have-rights-ohchr

We are proud to announce that the film has won first prize in the PSA catagory at My Hero Film Festival 2018
