Crest Design for royalty
LOGO RATIONALE In 1905, Alphonso Lisk Carew established his business.
Within a short while, he advertised on photographers, importers of photographic materials, toys and the rest.
Later on, him and his brother were hired as photographers for the Duke of Connaught's visit in 1910.
It didn't take a long while for him to become a well-known creative seirra Leone photographer.
His love of creativity is what inspired this logo.
The eagles at the top of the logo signifies the strength courage and wisdom In the Creole culture, where Alphonso Lisk Carew was brought up and they were interested in and held prominent leadership positions in Colonial Sierra Leone and west Africa.
This reminded me of a crocodile because of their intellect, as crocodiles are intellectual animals.
So, instead of a standard horse or dragon crest, I used a crocodile crest to make it stand out and unique.
In addition, I embedded the Carew people's western Guinea lowland forest, which is the floral attribute of their nationality, in the shield area.
The use of kite shapes in this logo was also well-designed, representing fate and prophecy.
I also used the Nile crocodiles by putting flags in their mouths to represent the protection of their nationality, and by using their intellect to protect themselves and their people.
If you look closely, you would see wristwatches in the hand of the crocodiles, what inspired that was in their culture, they wore wristwatches on their right hand.
Now, let's move to the lower part of the logo, you'd see a symbol of a cap, a horn, normally called “Ofo” and native bead.
The native cap, horns and beads worn signifies authority, tradition and power
