Album Artwork Joy Division
Joy Division Album (Personal Project)
Typography, Graphic Design, Music
The Joy Division logo artwork I created in illustrator represents the divided and chaotic nature of the lead singer and main song writer of the band Ian Curtis who committed suicide at the age of 23 years of age. Ian Curtis suffered from Depression and Epilepsy. Two months after he died, Joy Division’s album CLOSER was released and “Love will tear us Apart” became their biggest single release. After Curtis’s death the band reformed as New Order.
The Album cover represents both the band, the band name and theme of their most successful song LOVE WILL TEAR US APART. The lines theme was inspired by the radio waves artwork on Unknown Pleasures. In addition, the tear in the album cover represents the theme and name of the album (in this case) “Love will Tear us Apart”, that shows through to the lyric page.
I've also created a ticket mockup designed for the concert event.
