Catch 22 is about the hardness and tediousness of the rat race and how people might rebel against it in their own little beautiful ways. It really resonates with how I felt during my years working on what for me felt like meaningless jobs and how I would always try to find creative ways to do even the most monotonous tasks. 
This is also a homage to musicals and other dance pieces that spring out from narrative structures where characters suddenly begin to dance where dancing shouldn’t really be expected. I also just love the calculated randomness of these films and that’s another aspect we tried to replicate here.
