MNML Album Package Concept

// Album package concept design for a trance, dubstep or techno producer.

I created this concept as a portfolio piece, first creating a name for the producer (MNML, pronounced as Minimal), and then challenging myself to create a package around that name and theme.

The front cover lives up to its namesake, being letterforms using the minimal amount of shapes will just being recognized as the letters M N M and L. The name of the album comes from this art, as roman numerals 3 2 3 1. I went with red, black and white, as I knew this would have a slight bauhaus feel to the design.

On the back cover I wanted to feature the name of the album as well as the logo. I wanted to provide some visual interest by overlaying the track names to make them just short of illegible.

The colored vinyl records emulate the black, red, and white theme, while the track names are easily readable to the user, along with the identity.
