Sound of the Birds

A stylistic short film exploring the anxieties of a British-Afghan bride on her wedding day, as her fears for her homeland overtake her beautiful rituals. The film, which was shot on the day the Taliban returned to power, stars new talents Ila Verse, Nargis Javany, Mariam Rikweda and Mellanie Farahani. The film was shot on the Arri Alexa Mini LF on location at the Downes house in Kent. Currently in post-production and set for festival release in early 2022.
