‘Ne Pleure Pas Jeanette’ is a futuristic fable inspired by the medieval French children song of the same name. The song tells the story of Jeanette's lament, a beautiful lady of the kingdom, who refuses to marry another person other than her lover Pierre, who is arrested and sentenced to hanging. The film transposes periods and customs to demonstrate the universality of this feeling which is so human and capable of leading us to extremes.
