Pelagic Symbiosis

9 songs which were originally written for acoustic guitar with vocal, these became the guide tracks to which Will improvised all other musical parts on all instruments himself in the studio on the spot, giving himself only a few attempts to create what would be recorded, then nailing something which felt right within a few takes, he moved on to the next part or song. This was intentional, to give an earthy feeling of a real band performing in the studio together rather than a mechanical sounding solo project of separate layers. Everything was recored in single live takes from start to finish every time with no over dubs. The purpose of this being a test of Will's musicianship across an array of instrumentation to include learning how to play a Chinese Erhu, and improvised percussion parts such as the Gongs, Djembe and Timpani sounds in 'Ascent Amidst The Angels Of An Ageing Distant Sun'. This album was never intended to be a public release in its origin as an experiment of musical exploration and improvisational artistic expression. After co-producing the songs with Kelburn Studios owner and sound engineering aficiando, Nick Hodge, there was some discussion about the potential for the songs to be utilized in sync deals, with a view to being released digitally worldwide, and also on CD and Vinyl with local distribution interest from NHC Music Ltd. The level of interest and support being received has given rise to requests to perform live, and so a new band is forming to bring the songs to life featuring Will on Guitar & Vocal, Dimitris Skouras on Drums, and currently auditioning for a prolific Bassist who can really bring some performance magic, and add a unique flavour to the creative flow of the band when writing new material together.
