"Barabbas's Garden" Installation Detail (Panel 3)

This is just 1 panel (of 6 total) from a multimedia, embroidered tapestry installation, called "Barabbas's Garden". Using botanical metaphors, the tapestry takes the form of an embroidered forest image to create an organic, anthropomorphic character which seeks to understand how it’s been formed. Audio projected from behind the tapestry includes fragments of my voicemail recordings from the past decade and portions of individual interviews I conducted with open call participants and close friends. Behind this one panel, however, contains no real words - but was instead created by digitally manipulating fragments of words to mimic a rainforest soundscape.
