This project was a series of minor projects that comprised taking older text articles and turning them into short, stunning visual ads for reprint that spoke to the tone of the article. After reviewing the copy of the editorial, I could sense the tone and recognized that the spreads needed to be contemporary and soft. I spent the next few days establishing a mood board with many remarkable contemporary chairs with swatches of colors. The mood board helped me settle on the complementary hues of a soft purple and orange. After I picked the colors and stock images, I began researching contemporary fonts that contrasted well together. Next, I sketched for layouts being that I had only three spreads to work with and needed a solid plan. After a sum of sketches, I decided on a few that served smoothly, collectively. Using a grid with additional margin space, I could fit all the articles copy into three spreads while utilizing white space to sustain the emphasis of contemporary.
