Branding for Ambrossia
Ambrossia first commissioned me for a logo in August 2022, and I have since created two album covers, promotional teasers, a second (revised) logo, and am currently working on merchandise.
Holding meetings with the band to discuss their vision was extremely important to ensure appropriateness, especially at the beginning with the “Underneath” album cover.
For “Self Sabotage”, I was given translated lyrics as inspiration, featuring themes of water and drowning. We agreed on using
a phonetical spelling of the title in Hindi for the design, and checking legibility with a native speaker was vital to this process since I was distorting the text underwater.
The revised logo is much cleaner and stronger aesthetically, and the upcoming merch designs combine this with images from the Self Sabotage water shoot.
