Pika Labs has announced Pika 1.0, a cutting-edge idea-to-video platform that allows you to create and edit videos with AI applications. The new 1.0 AI model is capable of generating and editing videos in diverse styles such as 3D animation, anime, cartoon, and cinematic, and includes a new web experience that makes it easier to use.
Since launching the company 6 months ago Pika claims to have grown their community to half a million users, who are generating millions of videos per week. The company has also announced that it has raised $55 million in new investment from pre-seed and seed rounds.

When the Party's Over
To coincide with COP28 currently happening in United Arab Emirates, The WWF and NOMINT have collaborated on a new stop-motion animated film titled ‘Up in Smoke’ directed by Yannis Konstantinidis.The film addresses the global climate crisis driven by fossil fuel emissions and features a reinterpretation of Billie Eilish’s and Finneas’s ‘When the Party's Over.’
NOMINT employed a unique production process, integrating stop-motion animation with real smoke, and using a full-color 3D printing technique to create over 700 unique sculptures for different poses of the girl. The film was a year-long project and was captured entirely in-camera.
Britishness & Power
The 2023 Turner Prize has been awarded to sculpture and installation artist, Jesse Darling. Jesse won the £25,000 award for sculptures made of commonplace objects conveying “the messy reality of life,” and unsettling “notions of labour, class, Britishness and power”.
The jury was comprised of Tate Britain director Alex Farquharson, alongside Martin Clark, the director of the Camden Art Centre; Cédric Fauq, the chief curator of Capc musée d’art contemporain de Bordeaux; Melanie Keen, the director of Wellcome Collection; and Helen Nisbet, artistic director of Art Night.
Mula, The Flaming Eagle
Folkert Verdoorn launches a skier ablaze from a high tower block in Dutch rapper Mula B’s latest single, 'Blokke Gepikt'. The film executes a number of impressive visual techniques and was produced by Amsterdam-based production company, Artillerie.
