Analog Filmmaking + Modern Convenience
Firmly against the tide of digital, Kodak has announced the new S8 Super 8 camera, the modern film camera boasts a 4" LCD viewfinder, extended gate, and audio sync. Each cartridge comes loaded with 50 feet of professional film, with Kodak offering Vision 3 Color Negative Film stocks, or reversal stocks including TRI-X Black & White and Ektachrome.
Kodak handed the camera over to an all-star group of filmmakers to create the sizzle film featured above, including the talent of Spike Lee, Cara Stricker, Izrayl Brinsdon, Adetoro Makinde, Cynthia Parkhurst, Renell Medrano, Noah Henderson, Thais Castrale, and Ariel Davidson.
Admiration & Adoration
Iranian-Dutch artist Sevdaliza collaborates with Grimes on ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’ directed by Willem Kantine and released via Twisted Elegance.
In a recent press release Sevdaliza said “Admiration and adoration turn into weapons when women challenge expectations. True liberation is breaking free from inner and outer expectations, a journey worth embracing despite the bruises.”
The video features appearances from Sevdaliza, Grimes, Julia Fox, Madonna, Ferg, as well as bodybuilders Rebeca, Anne, Jur, and Romy.
Enter The Cave
French photographer and street artist JR has presented Act II of his ‘Retour à la caverne’ project set against the facade of the Palais Garnier in Paris. On November 12th the public was invited to witness the opening of Act II in two spectacular performances for one night only.
The 20-minute live performance was choreographed by Damien Jalet, included 153 dancers, and featured music composed by Thomas Bangalter.
