Music video to be shot in the UK for new alt-folk artist's debut track

[COMMISSIONER] are looking for a director to shoot a music visual for debut song [TRACK] from new alt-folk artist [ARTIST].

[ARTIST] has quite a specific idea that ties into the campaign's photography - and marrying the world of old English folklore with a contemporary setting.

The lyrical theme of the song revolves around using substance abuse to forget about your problems. Visually we would like to explore becoming a ghost in our own world.

Dressed in a white, soaking wet, muddy dress and constantly dripping with water and being completely ignored by passers-by, she haunts an inner-city - going about her day like normal. (getting a coffee, buying something from a corner shop, being on a bus etc). Gritty, but colourful locations are key.

We feel this lends itself to the opportunity to create some stunning vignettes amongst the video.

Stylistically we would like it to look as filmic as possible, but have a handheld, fly on the wall feel to it. Madi Diaz and Laura Marling videos are good references for visual aesthetics as well as the Memorial video attached in references.

With this idea in mind, we're keen to hear how you would make it happen - and discuss directly ideas for the visuals around it to create an edgy visual to accompany the beauty of the track.

Overall, we are aiming to be subversive of the 'ethereal female folk singer-songwriter' trope.

It could be shot in either London, Leeds or York and we are looking for delivery mid-January.
