If you spend a little time with the 22-year-old songwriter Ewan Mainwood, you’ll soon discover that his approach to music is all about feeling. His upcoming debut EP features collaborations with the likes of Jake Gosling, Rationale and his old friend RISC. Ewan’s ability to capture evocative snapshots of fleeting moments in life is inspired in part by the storytelling artists he admires: Sam Fender, Holly Humberstone and Frank Ocean. There is also the subliminal influence from the music his parents would play when he was growing up: the classic songcraft of The Beatles, Oasis and The Smiths.
