Uplifting and joyful music video for track about when love and anger collide

[COMMISSIONER] is looking for a videographer to create the music video for [BAND] second single [TRACK].

This single's video will be the first piece of filmed content put out, so the main aim is to draw people into the [BAND] world and get them wanting more.

We want to keep the bands' identities under wraps so they don't have to feature, although could in some form. This is all about creating something that keeps people watching and builds with the song.

The band is London based.

One idea is to create something choreographed, this could feel lo-fi and guerrilla like the classic Spike Jonze Praise You video.

Or something slicker like the early Jungle videos.

Another idea is to use the beat of the song but cut it to more of a sketch scenario. Dawn Shadworth’s video for Metronomy Old Skool illustrates this perfectly.

This idea could still feel gorilla, like Roman Coppola’s Taxloss video for Mansun.

Whatever direction, the video should ultimately be uplifting, joyful and a celebration of people, letting loose and having fun.

Ideally, we would get this turned around quickly, so again this might suit something more gorilla and lo-fi.

What the band say

This song is about hurting the people you care most about; when love and anger collide and you’re forced apart in a moment of passion.

It’s also about accepting that we all deserve forgiveness and a second chance once the dust settles.

This fairer process is designed to ensure that commissioners receive a sufficient amount of creative options to select from, while reducing the time directors spend pitching.

Therefore we limit the number of shortlisted directors invited to complete a treatment to a maximum of five.

Once you have applied to this brief, you will be notified after the application deadline whether you have been shortlisted to progress to the next phase.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit a treatment, which typically consists of a written outline of the video concept and how it will be executed plus images and reference videos, submitted as a PDF.
